Opinel Knife N° 08 Outdoor

This N° 08 is equipped with a 2.5 mm thick stainless steel blade, a 3.5 cm serrated area, very high-performance for cutting natural or synthetic ropes without tearing, and a shackle remover for 4 to 10 shackles mm. The handle is resistant to water, shock and extreme temperatures. It is equipped with a whistle with a range of 300 m.

MA5 stainless steel. Martensitic stainless steel with high hardness due to the addition of nitrogen (0.15%) and superior corrosion resistance due to the high chromium content (16%).

Polyamide handle. The handle is injected in polyamide loaded with glass fibre, which guarantees high resistance to impacts, water and extreme temperatures (from -40° C to +80° C). Tab integrated into the bottom of the handle, without ball works in all weather conditions. With a power of 110 dB, it has a range of approximately 300 meters in open areas.

Safety ring . Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is present on all folding knives starting from N°06. Carved from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety of transport).
